Maybe it's that time to call the judge I got acquainted with last year to talk to him about this sort of thing.
I just wonder if police are scared to get singled out and get bad publicity? Are they scared the truth is coming out? | | | | | Member

I have no problems with law enforcement...Even though the streets are public and you have the right to be there. Have some common sense ...if you are close enough for them to notice you. You are too close. You never know what all is involved with an arrest. Gang stuff, kid abduction.....Not only do officers have the immediate people to deal with they have to be aware of whatever is on their radar. I am sure there was more than what the photographer was saying..Everyone can recall their "own" version of events. I have seen several photographers become total idiots because they are photographers and apparently have lost any common sense that was given to them when they are holding a camera.
my 2 cents

I've seen police beating up people for no reason on three different occaisons. One was a man handcuffed with his hands behind his back and splayed out on a car, who was getting billy clubbed in the abdomen about every 15-20 seconds. The police the few people who came out to protest to get back in their apartments or be arrested.
I don't know what really happenned to this guy, and its perfectly possible that there is more to it than he reports. It's also possible that he's giving a fairly accurate account.

I'd most certainly like a better and more reputable source than DU, thats like using Rush Limbaugh as a source on photo equipment.

A one sided story from someone that makes it a practice of antagonizing the government is not enough for me to make a call on this.
Some of the things he's stated seem highly unlikely.
And it's amazing he has not followed up with more info yet.
I also have a problem with someone that labels themselves a PJ when all they do is take photos for a small website.

Considering the source (democraticunderground.com) and the fact that the individual in question uses the "Anarchy Now" symbol as his avatar, I am more than a little suspicious of the story. I too believe that there is a lot more to the story than what is being told...what, I don't know, but I am dubious of the claim. But that is just my opinion, I was not there as a witness.
However, after reading all the posts on that site, and visiting the site of the of the publication he was working for ( http://www.category305.com/magic-cit...rnalist-2.php), nowhere on either site are there pictures of the alleged injuries. I would have thought that the first thing he (and his boss) would have done is, once released, get pictures of the injuries for proof and publication. Just wondering...
Read the comments at the end of the article @category305.com, some are freakin' hilarious! | | | | | Forum Regular

Well, sentence number one didn't do much for his credibility.
The rest of the article needs some work. I guess, after reading this, his profession is not that of journalist - at least not a good one. "I am also going in for a head scan ... " - That's probably a good idea - for whatever reason.
I've been over a good deal of the northern hemisphere with a camera. I never had any problems taking pictures. And as already has been said you just need to use a bit of common sense.

305 has an article today on it, still one sided but a little "cleaner", sounds like someone that knows journalism advised them some to keep it sounding professional.

Especially when the one side you're hearing fron already has a such a clear bias.
