Just curious, does LR give you more control than say PSE 7 or 8?

Nope, but it is great for batch processing.

If I'm correct, the single license give you the ability to install to both your laptop and desktop as long as you own them. I'm pretty sure that is in the license agreement.

I bought one for my laptop as well. Donald, I didn't know that you could install it on both with one license. I will have to look into that. If so, that was a dumb purchase and I have been stupid for awhile now! LOL

Just FYI, both Photoshop and Lightroom (full versions) are eligible for the education pricing all the time straight from Adobe.

Adobe - Education: Eligibility for education purchasing

In some cases the cost of community college tuition PLUS the software may be cheaper than the cost of the software retail pricing alone.

I was curious so I went and found it in the license:

"2.4 Portable or Home Computer Use. The primary user of the Computer on which the Software is installed may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at his or her home, provided the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary Computer."

David, you can't use educational versions for business purposes as far as I know it is only for personal and educational use.

Donald, I had no idea. I looked it up and it is the same for Photoshop and Lightroom. This rocks! You made my day. Thanks.

Can a Student Edition also be used for commercial purposes?

In North America, Student Edition software can be used for commercial purposes. Outside North America, Student Edition software is for noncommercial purposes only.

Can I use a Student Edition after I graduate?

Yes, after you graduate, you may continue to use your Student Edition; the license does not expire.

Same here. I also use my laptop and desktop at the same time. Perhaps when it says "not used" it means...not actually being used by a mouse? Or, does that mean, strictly not even open? If open PS on my laptop, then it goes to sleep...is PS still in use?

I actually run three desktops at my 9-5 job, and when I'm working from home (remote days) I'm literally working on 2-4 computers in parallel (home + 1-3 at the office.) Talk about multi-tasking...
